*NZ National Election now on Vote Climate*
I have completed the Vote Climate "At a Glance" - Policy Comparison for the
2008 New Zealand / Aotearoa national elections.

If you know people who are voting please send them to this site:
http://voteclimate.org.au/ <http://voteclimate.org.au/USA-2008-Presidential>

In this election the NZ Greens Party is the stand out performer thought
their goals are low (but still higher than anyone else) and include
international offsetting.

The other stand out is the ACT New Zealand Party who are openly skeptical of
climate change and hostile to climate change policy.

ACT New Zealand could well form a coalition government with the Nationals.

Here is a comment on climate change on the front page of their website.

"*Dump the Emissions Tax Scam*

The Emissions Trading Scheme will wreck the economy with no benefit for New
Zealand or the world. ACT will repeal the ETS and pull out of Kyoto.

ACT will remove the thermal energy ban, cancel the tax on forestry cutting
and conversions, dump the arbitrary ad-hoc targets for renewables and can
the wasteful 'energy efficiency' subsidies.

ACT will insist that major infrastructure investments will not depend on the
anti-global warming hypothesis for viability."

See: http://www.act.org.nz/

You also might notice a lack of opposition to nuclear power plants. I
suspect this is because it may be a given that this is true in the "nuclear
free" New Zealand and thus not mentioned in policy.
