We should try and convince the government to fund electric rallies.

I bet you electric cars would instantly become a lot more feasible and the
engineering problems would magically disappear with a few billion dollars
of corporate sponsorship. :)

Cheers,

Leigh

"Rush to beat new energy ratings doubles Canberra housing approvals" p2
New five start energy ratings increase housing costs so people are
trying to get approvals to build prior to them coming in.

Comment: A bit difficult to tie peak oil to this but as energy prices
go up 5 star ratings will make more sense.

Government may axe Rally of Canberra" funding.

Comment: The Rally, like the dragway, is an event that consumes a
huge amount of petroleum fuel for purposes of entertainment. With oil
running out it is ridiculous for it to be funded by the government.

"What a bright idea! How simply changing light bulbs can help beat
global warming" p9

Use of efficient light bulbs instead of incandescent bulbs greatly
reduces carbon emissions caused by lighting. Currently lighting
creates 2/3 of the emissions world wide of that produced by cars.

Comment: This is more global warming related but anything which saves
energy can be tied back to peak oil.'
