Agenda for Climate Crisis meeting
Thursday 26th of July. 7pm
John Dedman Bld Rm 101 ANU

The purpose of this meeting is to form a broad coalition of groups and
individuals to input into a climate change campaign ACT.

7:05 pm - Introduction
1. Outline of purpose of the meeting – Adrian 2 minutes 2. Introductions – 5
-10 minutes

~7:15pm - Goals discussion. - see vision and goals from the UK Climate Chaos
Campaign below.

~7:25pm - Structure discussion.

~7:45pm - Action Discussions – Break out into Groups (below are suggested
topics for small group discussion)

a. An Inconvenient Truth – how can the network promote and use this event to
help stop global warming? Is there interest to run stalls at the movie?

b. Walk Against Warming 2006 – ideas, involvement, promotions

c. Conservation Council Climate Outreach – what is it, how people can get
involved.

e. Messaging – how should we focus it, what is happening overseas

f. Light Rail – intro to the campaign, how can it be supported

g. Other nominated topics for small group work.

Vision
A world in which human-induced climate change is capped at a level that will
allow all of humanity to prosper, by means that promote global, social,
environmental and economic justice.

Mission Statement
To build a massive coalition, that will create an irresistible public
mandate for political action to stop human-induced climate change.
