I'm a member of COGS. Their community gardens are a great idea - 9 x 3
metre plots for < $100/yr including water. I grow a lot of Jerusalem
artichokes, which are very high yield starchy root crops, ideal for
making ethanol. I plan to do a large crop of them this spring and try
my hand at home-brew fuel ethanol - making a still doesn't seem too
difficult. Anyone interested in that project, particularly if you're
an engineer or good with your hands, let me know, i'd love some
assistance.
