Tony's report (linked below) answers my previous question: Australia has about 1.7% of global reserves, giving us 14th ranking globally. In 2008 we were the world's 19th ranked producer, but that's no doubt going to change over the next decade (all other things being equal - which is a dubious assumption).

It says in the summary-

Australian primary oil production (crude oil, condensate and LPG) peaked in 2000–01 at 1546 PJ (276 mmbbl). Since then primary oil production has been declining at an average rate of 5 per cent per year to 1059 PJ (187 mmbbl, 29.8 GL) in 2007–08.
