Lots about the Summernats. Don't you all think there is something
obscene at a time when peak oil approaches that we should be burning
oil so profligately? At least it was only $300k the ACT Government
gave them but for what??

Wasted meat market
M.Collins refers to the article the previous day "feeding cars or
people" p11 and points out that diverting food to produce fuel is a
problem as is diverting crops to animal feed as this not only
increases food prices but adds to greenhouse gas emissions.

Feeding Cars or people: the biofuel dilemma by Michael Richardson p.11
An article which looks at the conflict between growing food crops as
food and diverting them into biofuels. Prices are going up and
carryover grain stocks are the lowest they have been for 34 years. We
need technology which finds a non-food feedstock for biofuels.
