Comment: LPG is still oil based unlike LNG which we have heaps of.
Australian crude oil production is in free-fall down 11% in the last
year. The subsidy can only be used by a small minority of car users,
the lack of capacity to do the conversion is hardly a virtue and the
government plans to start taxing LPG in 2011 putting up the price.
It's a policy that addresses the wrong question but will give the
appearance of action while not costing much as few can, or will, use it.
