Hmmmm, two comments: -

1)    Government is making a weak half-hearted effort in the "allowing
it
to happen" category, when what they really need to do is
      actively support it.

2)    Climate change is much more dangerous than electric cars.  Once
again, if safety is such an issue, the government should be getting
      behind it and engaging this more directly.

I sent a copy of my letter to the Minister for Local Government,
territories and Roads and also the Minister for the Environment about
the Reva electric car to the list. I now have a reply date 18 nov. It
says in more detailed formthe things said by Senator Humphries in his
reply below.
