[Peakoil] Making diesel from algae

The idea is to making diesel from algae grown in ponds fed with CO2 from 
coal-fired power stations.

I suppose if any biofuel is viable, it would have to be algae - a lot 
simpler to cultivate than plants. Though the infrastructure would be huge -
 vast ponds out in the desert. May actually have a positive energy profit 
ratio and be worth doing.
