It is with much pleasure that Permaculture Melbourne, representing its
associated local permaculture groups announces:


The 2011 South-East Bioregional Permaculture Conference in Melbourne
Workshops, speakers, site tours, party, film screening, a marketplace of
ideas
Friday 30th September - Sunday 2nd October
Venue: South Melbourne Commons, cnr Bank & Montague Sts, South Melbourne.

The conference and its associated events will bring people together to
share stories and discuss where we're going as a movement. Presentations
will be given by a wide range of local activists from local group leaders
to gardeners, educators, writers, designers, aid workers and more.

Evenings will be social time - Friday will be a large party with food,
music and dancing, opening the conference and celebrating 30 years of
Permaculture Melbourne, Saturday evening will be a screening of the new
film Anima Mundi and a talk with the director. Both evening events will be
suitable functions for bring partners and friends.

Site visits will be happening on Saturday afternoon to local gardens and
community sites will be happening. and a conference market on Sunday
morning for stalls, posters and displays so please make use of this
opportunity to tell your story and to let others know what you and your
community are doing.

The presentations and workshop sessions will get underway on Saturday
morning and cotinue through to Sunday afternoon with presentations and
workshops. The topics will be broad to encompass the diversity of activity
happening: - "Permaculture in your life", "Permaculture in your community"
and "Where to from here?" A plenary session will summarize outcomes and
indicate issues for follow-up.

Topics will include:
The results from the national survey on forming Permaculture Australia.
Overseas aid - sharing experiences and opportunities for increased
effectiveness
Measuring urban food harvests - update from research with gardeners in
Wodonga
Meet Writers & Filmmakers - sessions with authors/directors of recent
works on Permaculture
Food Security Local actions.

There are many groups doing Permie activities within the around Melbourne
and Victoria and this is a opportunity for groups to share and to build
collaborations with others ; Local Government, Transitions Towns,
Permaculture Melbourne's Local Groups. etc.
- how to get started, what works well. and how to bring change,

We invite you to spread the message far and wide, to as many networks as
possible, and we warmly invite you to come along and spend and inspiring
permaculture weekend with us.
