Hi all,

The annual membership fee of $20 (concession $10) for ACT Peak Oil is due
before July 1. However payment of the fee prior to the AGM we will soon
hold will entitle you to participate (as you would technically be
re-joining, which is fine).

Thanks to those who braved the cold at the get-together on Friday, and
thanks to Jenny and Nick for organising it.

It is interesting to see how the oil price may not be the threat I and
others thought it was, but that the problem is risk, the risk of sudden
unexpected supply disruptions and shocks. Living in a wealthy country may
not enable us to simply buy our way out of trouble while the rest of the
world suffers. Governments are becoming more receptive to dealing with
Peak Oil and pursuing themes such as this could head off any complacency
that Peak Oil is just another fad to be passed over.
