David Holmgren is conducting a one-day workshop at Bega next week.

If you are quick you can book a place ($150). This is a chance to not
only hear from David, but to mix all day with the dynamic "Transition-
Towners" in the NSW SE.

A bargain!

Subject: [Transitiontown] David Holmgren workshop. 23\9\09

Hello everyone in South East Transition land,

In a very rare event, we have David Holmgren coming to Bega on Wednesday
23rd Sept to conduct a workshop titled -'Future Scenarios'. You may
remember during the initial Transition Town talk in your town, I present
a graph on cardboard (permaculture powerpoint) from David that looks at
4 possible scenarios given the uncertain timing to our region of the
effects of both Peak Oil and Climate Change.

This workshop then fleshes this out in detail these scenarios and how
principles and pathways need to weave through each to find strategies
that work. Given the ultimate aim of any Transition Town initiative is
to prepare an Energy Descent local plan, this information becomes vital
if we wish to be resilient to what may lie ahead.

Cost is $150 and includes all day meals. Please respond back to me if
your able to attend - brogopg at bigpond.net.au

On a broader note, its been nearly 18 months since South East Transition
Towns began and so heartening the response that its generated. In so
many localities throughout South Eastern Australia people are meeting,
coming together to discuss and do all kinks of good stuff. Farmers
Markets have started, Permablitz has raged, we have our own Transition
TV outlet and in the Bega Valley, our own festival. It really is an
unprecedented outpouring of grassroots community activism.

We should all be very proud of what has been achieved.

kind regards
John Champagne
